Welcome to the "Take Heart" web site - set up to let you know what we are all about and what we do to help Cardiac Patients to come to terms with their illness.
We meet at The Eastwood Community Centre, Western Approaches, Eastwood, Southend on Sea, SS2 6SH (adjacent to Morrison's Car Park) at 8 pm on the second Thursday of every month.
Available at the meeting are tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits for which we ask for a donation towards the cost.
During the interval we have a raffle. Tickets cost 50p for a strip of 5
Each month we have a speaker, the subjects are varied but usually none medical as we feel that we have enough of that from doctors and the hospital. One of the rehab nurses is in attendance, those of you who have been on the rehab course at the hospital will know them, and they are happy to talk to you individually if you have any problems you would like to discuss.
Among the other activities that we partake in are "A Night at the Dogs at Romford, usually in February, a trip by coach to France before Christmas and an Auction of Unwanted Christmas Presents and the Like to raise funds in January. These among many others.
